FilmSlam has been Central Florida's only consistent, public screening event for independent filmmakers. We are a popular local screening outlet as well as a collaborative, creative networking opportunity for independent and student filmmakers throughout the State of Florida!
We have been independently organized and run by local artists who donate their time and talents to ensure Florida's novice, student, and professional filmmakers and storytellers, especially those in Central Florida, have a dedicated public place to screen their works since 2004.
FilmSlam is a safe space for filmmakers of all ages, disciplines, backgrounds, and abilities including filmmakers who happen to be female, minority artists, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Each screening begins at 2pm, runs for 60+ minutes, and is followed by a live Q&A which broadcasts live on Facebook.

filmslam gives covid 1★
When the entire world closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Impress Ink opened Orlando Merch Store to sell specially designed t-shirts in support of local restaurants, businesses, and non-profit organizations (like us!) while helping the rockstars at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida at the same time. We've been asked about selling FilmSlam t-shirts for over a decade and, with tongue firmly planted in cheek on one design, debuted two designs for this special online store. Both of which are still available for purchase!
Our limited edition ballot design features our classic audience voting ballot on black with a generous tear across the 1 star, our lowest possible rating for a film during a screening. We like to think that none of the Florida made independent films we screen deserve a "1" but in the case of COVID-19, we will 100% allow it!
Our logo design features our original FilmSlam logo on grey. Look for future designs soon!
